Who is the largest demographic of the beauty industry? Women. Women care about everything's appearances, including their own appearance. This is why female models get paid wayyy more than male models, because feminine beauty products are way more popular than masculine beauty products, from clothes, to make-up, to hair products.
Even down to a basic level women have been way more autistic about colours than men. There's always been memes and jokes about this. Women are way more perceptive of visual changes such as subtle colour gradations.
