There are different presumptions in regards to different sexualities, the way those presumptions express themselves is quite interesting if we analyze them through the scope of gender and sexual orientations themselves.
Heterosexual men need to act upon their sexuality to really be seen as heterosexual, instead of "imposters" of some kind... that means that men need to show others that they get laid, that they are capable of LTRing girls, and things of that sort for other men to see them as "heterosexuals", otherwise, they're seen as fags in disguise, asexuals, or any other sexual orientation that is out there.
Meanwhile, girls are automatically seen as heterosexuals if they look "normal", if they look feminine, if they look the way they're expected to look like. So, for women to show they are NOT heterosexuals, but rather lesbians for example, they have to look more "masculine" in some way or another, like tomboys, maybe get a bit "quirk" with tatoos and piercings, the thing is that the way women show their sexuality is through looks, contrary to men that have to perform, act, in a certain way to be seen as having a certain sexuality.
