Isn't it funny how every foids favorite romance anime is either some overly dramatic mess or a rushed, excessively affectionate piece of slop?
And when you ask them what they actually like about it, the answer is always something along the lines of "Oh I just love their relationship."
Then they turn around and hate on genuine peak fiction like Oregairu because "ThErE IS no rOmAnCe."
But in reality, they just can't comprehend romance beyond immediate gratification.
They aren't there for any meaningful development of characters, emotional nuance, or the formation of genuine bonds.
They're there for the drama, the flirting, the kissing, and whatever cheap emotional high the story can provide.
The moment a relationship requires patience, subtlety, or actual depth, they lose interest.
To them, romance is entertainment, not connection. Once the novelty wears off, they move on to the next series, the next ship, the next cast of characters.
Honestly, it's a pretty accurate reflection of how they approach relationships in real life as well.
