Worth a shot to try and network here, but anyone here in the finance industry offering work experience? I can send my CV, but story short im a top student, 11 9s GCSE, Predicted 4A*s, 1540 SAT, a lot of other awards, open to anything tbh but asset mangement/IB would be my preference. Pls pls pls anyone on this forum is willing to help, I promise i can be the best intern you'll ever ask for, i do coursera courses, im reading Hull's book on derivatives and such, I do IB flashcards in my free time, thx!!!

(Btw, I know that there are schemes you can apply for myself, im just seeing whether or not there are some people out here who could take me)

Your best shot is to make connections with professors. Go on college campuses and talk to (or email) a few relating to your dream career. Ask questions about whatever + internship opportunities, show how ambitious you are, and they might take you under their wing (or put a word in for you).

My finance career so far was off of luck, met a powerful guy out of whim. Good luck

I switched career paths (Business, Law, PureMathematics), but at first I was pursuing Investment banking. Again, got pretty lucky with a teacher I met in HS alongside a college friend and snagged an internship in 2025.

I will definetly try and ask around the professors and cold emailing to see whether or not I could get some opportunity there. I think my mom would let me travel the East Coast, I know it's a lot to ask for you, and I dont expect anything, but if you can find something for me, I would obviously owe you the world... pls try if you can!!

Nah I doubt anyone here has any knowledge about IB or enough to help you trust me I’ve looked. Maybe @Jason Voorhees
