You don't have to do that. You don't have to be a farmer away from society to live free. You just need to admit to yourself that you're slaving away your life in the workplace to fund vapid whims that solve the problems they themselves create. You think you need a $100k+ salary to live? Anything beyond necessity is just chasing status and societal acceptance. Work as few hours as possible in any way (direct or indirect) that will keep you fed and warm at night, so you can spend the rest of the day finding yourself, exploring your passions, and actually living life, which is free of charge
