My passion was cooking for the longest time so i pursued a gastronomy education and god it was the biggest mistake of my life

There is 0 passion put into the food you eat in your average restaurant, ive worked at 3 and every single one is the same. The vegetables/fruits are all always half rotten, the food is mainly frozen dog shit prepared in completely unsanitary conditions, most of the workers are grumpy old dudes/females that dgaf about what theyre actually doing. You WILL get yelled at atleast 50 times for god knows what.

Unless you find a job at a prestigious, rich restaurant as a master chef or something, there isn't anything more miserable. Even at a high end restaurant the experiences are pretty much the same, except that it's more sanitary.

Everything is time limited, you have to work non stop for 6 hours constantly rushing, you're always sweaty, caughing cause of the awful conditioning and smoke, greasy and overally dirty.

Speaking of dirt, the plate cleaning work is always completely half assed, the workers dont wash their hands at all.

Dont work at a restaurant bros, i cant believe i'll have to do this for the next 40 years.
