One of the things that I noticed on social media during the World Cup was the sharply increased hatred towards the sport's best player, Messi (especially from women). He is the best by all objective metrics, and we can expect that people who are not even familiar with football will recognize him. But no. He faced comparatively the most hatred from larpers, and the only real reason is physical attraction, or rather the lack of it. Messi has authority in football, but women just can't accept that a man they don't physically like may have a strong social position. Their psychology can't really recognize someone their vagina doesn't recognize. They even begin to hallucinate(the AI video that got fucking 2.5mil likes, no one in comments said that it's fake, everyone just decided to believe) and believe the most delusional things just to not admit that a short, ugly, autistic man can be good at something and because of these three factors they will try to completely belittle everything else that fills a person (the halo effect). The reverse example is Jude Bellingham and Holland. Both are physically better than Messi, and this is enough for their whole brain to now count and put them in the place of the "best" and hallucinate in the opposite positive direction, making them perfect simply because of their physical parameters
