We got a crumbling and increasingly unstable global empire (USA), an entire continent known for being a massive powdercake getting flooded with an alien culture thus leading to the rise of extreme political instability and radicalization as well as an increasingly unpopular federation that is trying to strongarm it's members into an authoritarian union thus giving rise to separatist movements (Europe). A growing and increasingly aggressive authoritarian superpower (China). A failing economic system that soon will leave whole populations destitute.

It's just a matter of time and how long it will take tensions to boil over into conflict somehow. Odds are that it will happen sometime in the mid to late 2020's at the earliest and the mid to late 2030's at the latest. But point is, it will fucking happen.
