World would have been better if the US supported the Soviet's causes.

Imagine supporting hill mujeets to fight against the force of change. Amerimutts siding with Jihadists during the Cold War was a part of the reason why we have to deal with these radical donkey riders today. They may be repressive but they have done extremely well in secularizing their member states. Women were liberated and treated as equals. Education and healthcare were accessible. Feudalistic elements were eliminated. Eastern Bloc countries are noticeably solid in their STEM education.

TLDR; I wish the US supported the Soviet in their struggles against religions and classes.
