If they told you that you need it, go for it.
When i was younger than you they suggested i should do it and i didnt want. Im 34 now and plan to have it soon, you dont know how much i regret not having it done before.
The sooner the better, anything that helps you improve you should do it asap, since its permanent you will enjoy it for more time. Take it as an investment.
