I got minor acne on my cheeks which is really stubbon. Went with benzoyl peroxide and it didn't really do much at all.

I got invited to a fashion week show in june and i need to look my cutest for all the fashion foids.

Is accutane worth it for stubborn minor acne on the cheeks?
How bad is the purge and how long does it last?
How long till you see significant improvement?

yes accutane could be worth it but only use low dose for the minor acne which results in fewer side effects

  • the purge can start in the first month and can last 2 to 6 weeks
  • after 3 to 4 months majority is gone
  • worth it in the long run if you manage sides correctly (staying hydrated, moisturise and SPF)

Mark as solution on the right bhai :feelsautistic:

You can permanently microdose accutane
10mg every 3 days to never stress about acne.

Personally the purge for me wasn’t that bad (30mg dose), I did megadose Fish oil and an anti histamine is proven to reduce the purge. I used 10mg Loradatine for the first 2 months of my treatment.

I started seeing improvements after 3 weeks but my acne basically fully cleared after 2.5 months. This is different for everyone so don’t expect a clear answer. For minor acne like yours it shouldn’t take long.

you can try Tazarotene first

3 months it’s all gone? I was on for 9 months with 80mg daily last year and I didn’t really see results until 3 months in. My skin wasn’t even mostly cleared till ~8 month mark

3 months is when you notice change for most people
