Would a Orthodontist give me orthodontic appliances for aesthetic reasons?

For example i have a slightly recessed mandible and looking to get twin blocks but there is nothing wrong with my breathing it just doesn't look good i don't know whether i should say i want them for aesthetic reasons or that it does affect my breathing. if i do say i want them cosmetically will they instantly turn me down or will i be fine.
