Usually you can tell the hair is transplanted from the spacing and how it looks "too perfect" almost. You can also see how it contrasts with the temples.
What i'm thinking is if both the temples and the top looks slightly "artificial" it won't be as obvious its surgery and look more like thats just your "hairtype" or whatever?
