TLDR: Abdominal radiation in very young children can stunt spinal growth up to 4.5 inches. I think this is why im 5'5 instead of 5'9. (Mom 5'9 dad 5'7).
It would have mitigated some damages, but as far as I know, spinal radiation stunts growth mostly through tissue damage (such as spinal tissues/growth plates), so it would not have solved that issue entirely.
