You'd be suprised how easy it is to simply disfigure yourself without the desired outcome of killing yourself.
I've seen it happen but I'd guess if you aim for the correct area it's quite likely

It's your logic which is poor. The question was "would it calm you down?" Because I have access to a gun which according to a quick search 86% of cases lead to death (which also doesn't account for where they shot themselves on the head which would make it more or less likely and lots of the people in the study were using illegal and prescription drugs) I have an extremely high likelyhood of dying. So either way I would have means of an easy suicide if I wanted, meaning the small difference in probability isn't enough to influence how I would feel
killing yourself is LOW T bahaviour
You would have to go through the fear of throwing yourself off a 75ft building which is arguably a lot harder than swallowing a pill
