Not only did Plato speak of the value of being attractive in several of his works, he viewed beauty as an external representation of deeper excellence and suggested it has the power to influence social interactions, moral behaviour, and more.
Here's why it gets interesting. Plato believed that reading books would make people stupid because you cannot interact, debate, or raise questions about the book, unless you do so with yourself. This applies by extension to social media: we constantly consume content but we don't raise questions. Of course, we have comment sections and whatnot; however, by the time we have consumed the content, thought about it, formed an opinion, and raised questions, the world would have moved on, and it is unlikely that your comment would be seen.
If Plato valued debate and interaction, could we deduce that he would be a fan of forums or platforms such as Reddit? After all, platforms like Reddit or forums like this one solve the exact problem which he proposed.
If we combine his thoughts on beauty with his disdain for passive consumption, could we presume that if Plato were alive today, there would be a high likelihood of him being a looksmax.org member?
Here are some things which he wrote that could relate to lookism. Of course, he didn't truly believe in lookism so to speak, but perhaps if he were to live in the modern world, his previous thoughts on how important looks are would be accentuated.

"The beautiful are called beautiful because they are beautiful."
