Sharia is based in some things but I truly believe that people must be able to make decisions and not be controlled like sheep. Even if they make the wrong choices (natural selection). I also don't believe any religion is true so if I'm right then we are suffering for no reason at all jfl. Imagen not having sex to go to heaven but turns out heaven doesn't exist. BRUTAL. Anyway on top of that I agree that some people deserve capital punishment etc. But for valid reason and not criticism for example. I think freedom of speech is a must because it gives us freedom of thought and thus higher iq and more overall knowledge. You can't adapt it. Religion is as flexible as the interpretation. For example the Shia are more flexible regarding islam because they can interpret more freely than in Sunni islam. But it's all limited. You can't change the fundamental views or values or twist anything the Quran says to fit your own morals or point of view. That's why I don't think religion will last that long into the future.

Cutting your hand off is the punishment for theft - it's a drastic measure meant to prevent theft in the first place. The context of the punishment is for thefts that are done out of greed rather than necessity. If theft occurs as a result of desperation then there's not supposed to be a punishment and the person getting robbed is expected to forgive the thief. There's also a system in place such that it only occurs for recurring crime iirc.


As for circumcision well you can blame that on a schizzo jew from 3000 years ago or w.e no getting around that one
