Yes, regardless of whether or not I have a son or daughter. I am far for introspective and contemplative than my mother who never thought about what was best for me.

She kind of fell into the trap of "I give you a house and food that means I am a good parent".

In reality that is the bare minimum you should be doing, and you don't deserve praise for that.
