The bigger the gap between your looks, the more of a different lifestyle you both will have and thus, you hold different views, goals, values, hobbies, that might serve as some sort of impediment for the growth of a friendship. Friendships are forged spending time and experiences together. I've seen it work with people who have something in common, as for example their religion, although I have no way to know how real that connection is. In my personal case I have easily connected with people who had a similar past, we got along instantly without even knowing anything about each other.

At the end of the day I wouldn't say I'm choosing who I befriend. It simply happens.

I don't think it's an honest statement to simply say that "both good looking and ugly can have the same exact life" and call it a day. You know about the different variables and possible effort involved required to get to the same place. Not meant to be an absolute statement.

Respect: you can be respected for your money, and you can be disrespected for the very same reason because they will think you have no struggle in your life and everyrhing has been handed. It can happen with status, too. Why would you even respect someone because they have money? Or status? Or looks? You don't even know that person. I don't think I've ever respected someone solely because of those, to me it sounds lame. You can be hated because of your looks, and loved for the same reason too. For me to have respect for someone I would need multiple real genuine interactions and see value in them as a person -note: real genuine interactions.

I was little friends with some normies at work and nobody had big ambitions. Some buy a house and wage slave for 20 years, others idk. Something along those lines. But I am so different so crazy. But I am happy about it.
