I'm currently in this situation where I don't know wether to attend the funeral which is in Poland (I'm currently in Denmark), I would have to spend 4 days in Poland which would put me behind on work as it hasn't been planned (cancer), and I just managed to catch up to my work from the last time I suffered from stress. For context: Ive spend a lot of time with her when I was younger and we were quite close, and we've had a lot of good memories together, but I'm afraid that I would get back into a cycle of stress again. I usually never attend funerals as I'm always content with the fact that they are dead and I feel like funerals are just a way to make the people that had forgotten them or so forth, feel bad and just a way to make it up to them. (I'm a atheist and very logical thinking individual, so I don't believe in afterlife or anything like that). My worry would also be what my family would think if I didn't attend. Any advice?
