Depends how excessive, would rather have a slightly too short midface than a slightly too long one, very short midface is even more subhuman than very long midface however

Overly long makes you look cuckish and you need a massive chin to compensate which just looks uncanny

Not how it works because 1-1.05 is all the ideal range

So slightly too short would be like 1.08 and slightly too long would be 0.97 for example
