Would you rather live a mediocre life and get old, or a short but awesome life

I don't like social idea that we are supposed to get old and live a long life, I'd rather take a bunch of drugs, alcohol, and live my life in the prime of my youth, and if it kills me it kills me.

It sounds more appealing then having to work for 40 years to have a decent home and family, when I could live doing what I like to do, and when I die I'll look back and I'd actually be happy with the life I've lived.

Logically i would pick short and awesome but I have a huge fear of death/the afterlife so if I got asked this IRL I would probably pick long and mediocre

Long and mediocre, im quite content with my living situation in spite of my subpar looks

I feel like I'm somewhat scared too, but I understand that it will happen someday, so I'm a bit more okay with it

This is why I am reverse retiring partying everyday till I'm like 40 then work and die maybe
