Say you wanted to become a billionaire, and it's entirely meritocratic that there is a 100% certain route that you can decide to take and no randomness/chance/luck affects you. So the effort being put is 100% being converted to result and chance can't nullify the effort by acting against you. I know this sounds impossible, but just for the sake of it.

Its all the same from my POV. What do I care if there is or isn't randomness? Out of my control in any case.
If there isn't randomness then everything is predictable.
