Back when I was a kid in communist Romania, food was pretty scarce, we would frequently go to our grandparents, they lived in the village and raised animals, so I've seen plenty of animals slaughtered, it was like nothing to them, even in the city there were people raising chickens, rabbits or pigs on their balcony, then going outside to cut them in the streets in public view...I would have probably be asked to kill animals too, if communism didn't fell and meat finally became widely available.

Thats honestly what I do in my own life. I only eat animals I would kill myself haven't eaten mammal meat in like a year because of it just feels hypocritical to eat the flesh of an animal you wouldnt have the balls to kill yourself.
