I'm writing a sci-fi novel dead srs. It's something I've wanted to do for some time now. Been writing a bunch of lore shit. Also I'm drunk.

what is it about

elab on the plot

The basic premise is that humans are the only known sentient race that did not shed it's natural aggression as it evolved into a complex society, where as every other sentient race in the known galaxy has done this. The reason is that by default every planet that can support life has basically no axial tilt (meaning weather patterns remain extremely stable) which means that fertile territory and access to resources is very easy. As a result the default evolutionary path for every sentient species is that as society becomes more complex co-operation naturally becomes the norm with the effect that over time aggressive individuals basically vanish from the gene pool. Basically it's what would have happened if evolution in real life would have 100% rewarded beta cuck providers even during the stone age causing the alpha chads to basically just die out.

However, because earth is a freak edge case that has crazier weather, access to resources and fertile land was more harder to come by and survival in general was more difficult. This has the effect of evolution on earth rewarding alpha male behavior instead of betacuck behavior. As a result humans are the only sentient race in the galaxy where alpha male behavior is still the norm long after everybody else in the galaxy has been turned into a beta cuck by evolution. Humans are also much larger and stronger on average.

Basically the source of drama is what happens once the rest of the galaxy discovers humanity and isn't sure how to react, since humans are pretty much the only sentient species in the entire galaxy that even has the mental tools to wage war or even just be intentionally violent in general (with most other races finding the idea of violence revolting to a point of almost literally not even being able to do it at all).

Tbh there is lots about the story that I haven't really thought about yet. I'm still in the process of working out where I want to take things. But currently I have already decided at least that the story will start out from the perspective of a alien crew of explorers that discover earth and then decide to beam in a bunch of humans for study, much to their horror in regards to what they then find...

EDIT: Should add that by the time the aliens discover earth humans are already in the late 21st century and have invented very basic FLT tech (though still primitive by the standards of the aliens) and are already on the verge of expanding into space themselves.

I've rewritten it like 3 times. It's in a very advanced stage of development, however. The fact I've also been writing a second different novel alongside this one has also slowed things down. I'm hoping to have what is basically a finished version within 8-12 months.
