Its why niggas have pics of them with glasses and braces in school as teenagers, but luckily have good parents who get them braces and a orthodontist and palate expanders, turn out to be quite good looking later on.

At a young age yes; this is dependent on your ortho using appliances since your bones are still malleable - effective for those with Underbites or Overbites.

Past a certain age u gotta get jaw surgery; for misallingments, overjets and crossbites (dental not skeletal crossbites/overjets) braces should do a neat job even if you had premolar extractions - no it doesn't recess your basal maxilla (lefort 1 aesthetic area) only your alveolar ridge and if your ortho isn't from Mumbai and knows what they're doing they can minimise damage to harmony i.e flatter lips and soft tissue support
