Ironically, we're regarded as greedy for keeping the forum accessible for all? There's no profit incentive, as running the forum isn't profitable whatsoever. I'm not sure what's up with this wave of paranoia that seems to besiege the users' of this forum every few months, but your chances of scoring a date aren't affected by this forum remaining public or not. To be fair, I get where @Master and @Alexanderr are coming from. Running this forum is not something that happens free of cost. Privatizing the forum would only hurt them, economically speaking. The more traffic, the better. Unless we all generously donate a sum of money each month, but no one is willing to do that, so it has to stay public.

But aren't you afraid you'll end up like KiwiFarms or other trollnet sites? You're now in a spotlight, it's no longer niche site so if next ER (and there will be next ER, no matter what) posts here you will have huge problem, it will be connected. This forum is already marked by FBI in connection to incel issue, and now you will also have tiktok trends and journos picking it up which will jeopardize the safety and hosting. There is also an unspoken brotherhood on this forum , because in order to end up here we all must ve experienced the blackpill irl to some degree, i would rather help you guys than some tiktok fag .

I think privating the forum for a few months until the trend dies down would be the best thing to do. When that youtuber made a video on masters suicide forum the forum got privated for a while until people lost interest, i think it would be best to do something similar for this place. It could be dangerous to have so many normal people visit the forum and for example see pictures that users originally thought only other blackpillers would see. Theres also a chance of the forum gaining enough traction to the point of news articles writing articles about it, possibly leading to users getting doxxed like master and serge did in the new york times article.

If you regularly lurk here, even if you didn't sign up, you probably relate to the struggles a lot of users had with their appearance. Creating an account isn't the difference between relating to the users here or not.

So yeah, I just fundamentally disagree on this topic. I believe the forum should be free and accessible to all. If you want to engage in a certain thread's discussion or have a personal question, you create an account and that's it.

Most users here are lurkers more than they are posters. So there's no difference really. You can check out the recent forum survey results which showcase it very well.

If the intent was to prevent the forum from any publicity of sorts, it would've never gone public, to begin with. Even after the entire NYT debacle Serge & Master never privated the forum or suggested it.

The odds of a normal user getting 'doxxed' by a big newspaper like the NYT seem negligible. It's never happened before.

Master and Serge did because of another big forum they were running that was centred around self-administered suicide, which of course, is a very sensitive topic. Much more so than looksmaxing ever could be.

Thus I wouldn't be worried, lest someone was posting something illegal or whatever but they'd likely be banned by then.

Correct , but they can still get inspired and churn out helpful posts and threads at a later date, for instance , back when i was a newbie , i first read the whole botb and then i decided to contribute by writing down the androgenmaxx estrogenmin guide , it's still in the botb section , interestingly i was a bit jealous of high iq users like chintuck22 for dropping the best guides ,which motivated me , there was some sort of unspoken competition.

i remember , a solution might be to recruit a few extra passionate mods who actually enforce the rules ,delete low effort shitposts and ban the scum , in other terms , filter out graycels.
I also believe forum quality was higher back then as compared to now, i mean most botb threads were written in 2020 .
