Y'all just hate when an artist does something different, 2093 offered some great fusions between electro-industrial and trap and it's not like it was widely experimental, tons of tracks blew up online from this album. Plus I think it's his most focused album thematically with the deconstruction of power he offers in his lyrics and the sobriety he's achieved personally.

Yeah it’s structured more theamatically but it seemed like the albums entire identity was the fact thst it was tryna combine techno/electric + rap like i guess it was technically presentable but it wasn’t able to compare at all to any of his earlier works. The nigga has to get on drugs again jfl every song of his prior to afterlyfe sounded like he was in soul synchronicity with the beat, then u look at 2093 where it sounds like a dumbass purposefully tryna sound drunk on a beat that sounds like it’s from a hacking segment from spy kids while mumbling some bullshit, his art’s completely devoid of any hints of life. It’s almost asif his entire shtick is that hes appealable to normies with his corporate ‘rage’ now. You would not be able to name one song on 2093 thats better than even geek high.

Not at all, it's a triumph anthem overall to Yeat's sobriety and newfound clear-headedness. It's also his best sonic world building adopting a cyberpunk aesthetic flair and lyrical focus on doubt and power since like forever.

I don't think he sounds purposefully drunk in that album, his quirky voice and kinda gliding autotune just make it more atypical than the features on 2093 although they fit the beats well.

Which song or beat sounds like a hacking segment from a kid's show ? I don't think Yeat caricatured electronic music on that album.

I can name multiple (Breathe, Familia, ILUV, Tell me) but that's up to personal preferences. Have you tried perhaps relistening to the album after the shock of novelty ? At first it didn't click well for me too.

I mean we can talk incredibly philosophically about the newfound depth of new his album theme building and his clearheadbess but the real fact is noone gives af abt that yk. His entire rap style wasn’t about his lyrics or overall design it’s always mainly been about how fun his songs come across as, that was what yeat used to be strongest in and the main reason he popped off initially, its his pure essence. And yeah but this new rewriting of his entire rap style and identity comes off as a retard thats gotten so high off his fumes hes essentially stuck in a negative feedback loop where his songs get more pretentious as time goes on, like his recent comments about tryna not make slop anymore. I was being egregious and hyperbolic but his new beats are lazy and have 0 life to then. They sound incredibly forced like a circle tryna get jammed into a larger hole it sounds completely sonically off. Trust me i tried but it sounds like a caricature of his older self i can’t hear it without it paining me tbh. The cyberpunk aesthetic could have worked with his old style imagine that, his newfound apathetic rap structure just doesn’t work at all it’s getting laughinly bad at this point hes completely lost his hunger now.

I tried ian but he sounded like a caracature tryna bank of prime yeats style it hurt. I like yatchys one song d to the a, and icl nles so boring he has 0 nuance. Like when u listened to old yeat every layer of sound was like cracking a present in ur ear, his shit just can’t do it anymore for me with it’s one dimensional rapping now.
