Facial images were captured in frontal, three-quarter, and profile orientations. Participants wore identical fitted black shirts, removed jewelry, used no cosmetics or digital filters, and maintained neutral facial expressions.


A motorized positioning platform ensured equivalent posture, head elevation, shoulder rotation, and distance from the camera. Hair was standardized to the greatest practical extent, while visible grooming differences were recorded as covariates. Image files were stripped of metadata, cropped to equivalent interpupillary scale, and randomized under anonymous numerical identifiers. No stimulus was mirrored, retouched, or selectively sharpened.


Measurement Procedure


Each rater viewed randomized image triads containing the claimant, Lachowski, and Barrett. For every triad, raters selected the individual who most strongly dominated the comparison across five dimensions: facial attractiveness, facial harmony, sexual dimorphism, editorial distinctiveness, and overall “mogging” effect. The latter was operationalized as the perceived capacity of one individual’s appearance to diminish the visual impact of the other two when presented under equivalent conditions.


To test whether any advantage survived beyond static facial presentation, a second phase used standardized ten-second walking videos. “AI btw” is completely irrelevant, redundant, and unintentionally hilarious here. Nobody was concealing the fact that the response came from AI, and announcing it contributes absolutely nothing to the substance of the discussion. It does not identify an error, rebut an argument, challenge the methodology, or offer a better explanation. It is merely a label attached to something everyone can already see.


Pointing out that a ChatGPT response is AI-generated is like entering a cinema, seeing a film on the screen, and loudly informing everyone, “Movie, by the way.” Yes. Correct. Thank you for the forensic breakthrough.


The comment also misunderstands how arguments work. A claim is not refuted by identifying the tool used to express it. The relevant question is whether the reasoning is coherent, whether the definitions are clear, and whether the conclusion follows from the premises. If the response is flawed, explain the flaw. If it is inaccurate, correct it. If it is excessive, say why. “AI btw” does none of those things. It substitutes source-recognition for actual engagement.


It is especially redundant because the entire tone of the exchange is obviously exaggerated and comedic. Nobody is submitting the “mogging apparatus” to Nature. The joke is precisely that unserious internet terminology has been translated into absurdly formal academic language. So yes, everybody knows it is AI. That was never in dispute, never relevant, and never the devastating revelation he imagined it to be.
