I don’t know if you’re a brit too but if you are (or at least if you are a southerner, IIRC northerners are less so) you’d know that we have a far less friendly culture than the americans towards strangers.

Yes we enjoy hanging out with friends and drinking but people rarely talk to others in public, whereas its my perception that americans for example tend to smile at and interact with one another more often.

In London where its worst, people will just keep their heads down and remain silent on the tube whilst a crackhead is doing some absolute nonsense in front of them because thats just how the culture is, “stiff upper lip” and all that
