Palantir is everything wrong with the modern world- a privatised surveillance state to exploit the paranoia and weakness of the modern man, who feels that he needs an eye in the sky to keep him and his family safe, who outsources his own violence to a nanny state that he blindly trusts to be aligned with his own interests.
Palantir is just a product of a broader movement is society that has ruined it at every level- safetyism. Safetyism is a belief system that places safety as a sacred principle above all others, and believes that sacrificing freedom, agency, meaning and novelty are all worth it to make society “safer” and “more secure” for the average person. It is the ideology of the bugman, of the weak and the scared, who feel that the universe owes them the unearned right to safety at the cost of others. It is an ideology designed for the giganormie, so that he can continue to live his meaningless, NPC life undisturbed
Safetyism envelopes everything. It has ruined childhood- we no longer give our children the freedom to develop and explore their world, we stick them in front of a screen playing “unproblematic” media in a childproofed bubble away from others (who might hurt them). We teach them that offending anyone in any way is a moral crime, we punish them for doing anything that may compromise their safety (even if they are valuable experiences for their own development) and we raise them to blindly trust and respect authority rather than to command it themselves/ This creates weak, spineless adults who never learn to deal with their fears and who expect the state to resume the role of their overprotective parents well into adulthood.
It has ruined culture: Any provocative or original media is labelled “problematic” and is defunded, decried and denigrated. We have grown adults treating literal cartoonslop like profound media because they cannot process anything with complexity or depth (looking at the tenderqueer demographic in particular). Musicians or athletes who express controversial opinions are dropped by agencies, smeared in the media and denounced as improper and insane. As a result, normie culture becomes the direct expression of safetyism- marvel movies where the “good guy”always wins, taylor swift songs that affirm whatever milquetoast cultural themes are popular right now, mrbeast youtube “content” meticulously constructed for mass appeal… all of this slop is a product of this cultureless culture

The overton window is safetyism in action- to be a radical, an extremist in a slur, because how DARE you even consider uprooting this corpse of a society and jeopardise the security of the normie’s lifestyle in the pursuit of something better! You must not be -ist or -phobic in any sense because hatred is not an approved emotion, it might make people feel unsafe!
