Does a falling tree still make noise if there is nobody there to witness it?
You’ve heard it countless times celebrities or influencers getting into trouble because their crimes began to resurface. If you’ve been on the internet lately you might’ve seen music artist d4vd getting absolutely mauled by the media for his abhorrent crimes against an underaged girl.
His crimes are very much real, however when people don’t witness the horrors behind closed doors they treat the man just as nicely as the next person of similar influence. You listened to his music, purchased his merchandise, reposted his videos. You couldn’t call him a murderer then, you never knew about what he did and so of course you can’t blame yourselves but the fact you treated him like a normal human being—as if he was one of us. It’s scary, just how many of these guys hide amongst us? side note: it’s making me upset thinking about how in contrast, Richard Ramirez was idolised and worshipped by women for his crimes. exceptions will be exceptions though.
