They are probably real because there are trillions of planets in the known universe. And while they may not be giga advanced alien civilizations, the notion that Earth is somehow so special as to be uniquely capable of supporting even primitive life forms, is absolutely ridiculous.

lol, you propose an idea of how we can travel the vast distances of the universe, with limited fuel, food and how you gonna solve the problem of pilots and passengrs longevity as it'll take years and years and people would just die from old age while travelling. face it, interstellar travel is just not possible within the visible future. Yeah imo even things like giants, Bigfoot and dragons were probably real. A lot of mammals had gigantism during the ice age so its not unlikely there were giant snakes, giant early humans etc
