You can still be tall with a 'short' family

I’m 6ft4, my dad is 5ft7, and my mom is 5ft4. My grandparents on both sides don’t exceed 5ft5. My grandmother always told me that I inherited my height from a part of the family who were exceptionally tall. I’m not sure if it was true or if I misinterpreted it because I was around 12 at the time. She mentioned that on one side of the family, the women grew to over 6ft tall, and the men were 6ft6. I’m uncertain because that side of the family she refers to is Italian, and this was apparently in the 1980s. Also, my grandmother is very short. So, how can you end up short with such a tall family? Haha

true in iran all 40+ year olds are around 5’6 while everyone under 30 is around 5’11
