That should be much easier because they usually pronounce the words very correctly. Especially in the news. I thought you have problems with random TV shows where they tend to mimic everyday speech and mumble with background noise on top of it. Most likely weak infrastructure on your part. You probably neglect Italian for English a lot of the time. Making it even worse.

I don't think that you're stupid I think that you don't have enough practice watching the news and talk shows or you lost the ability to fully understand it. It`s a different kind of speech, people don't talk like that In real life. I'm starting to think that you're stupid because you don't seem to grasp the idea of X infrastructure in the language.

A guy with 90IQ from the US would have an easier time understanding the news in english not because he`s smarter but because he has more infrastructure of the language in his head. He can better predict the mumble parts because of unconscious experience throught his life.

It`s truly water but you have a hard time admitting or understanding it. The news is a DIFFERENRT DOMAIN. People don't speak like that in real life. If you've never watched the news (let`s assume) you'd still might have problems despite being really good at the language in other parts.
