Russiancels live life on easy modeScientists from the structures of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences did not find a single virgin among the 650 surveyed high school girls and vocational school students aged 17 from the Moscow region, the Izvestia newspaper reports today. The publication notes that an early "debut" entails a decrease in reproductive abilities.
Currently, more than forty percent of schoolgirls at the age of 15 have already lost their virginity. In the 90s of the last century, this figure was about thirty percent. This is stated in the first collective monograph of the Scientific Center for Children's Health "Medical and Social Problems of Raising Adolescents" released in 2014.
The study claims that among the girls surveyed throughout the country, 41% of those who had already lost their virginity by the age of fifteen were identified. At the same time, every fifth of them (8% of the total) lost their virginity before the age of thirteen.
Meanwhile, in 1975, the share of girls whose debut in sexual life took place at the age of 15 and earlier was officially 3.7%. Further, by 1980, the number of virgins had decreased to 90%, by 1990 there was a jump in "debutantes" to 33% (that is, the share of virgins decreased to 67%).
