That was my own stance for ages. Buuuuuuut
Local PUA's would answer me things like "you don't need friends, you can get an instant-wing" or *real men don't need friends, that's a girl thing" and would validate more guys who can get a girl from nowhere other than guys who only get girls through social circle.

I have the same background (with more money) but two things happened often:

1) we sit, spend money, vodka and champagne appears. No girls. We simply can't hook up the attention despite how much we spent.

2) we have a big group of guys and I'm the worst looking in the group (even if I spent the most). Some guys will get girls who would get them if they were alone by the doorstep, I will get none.
