Jfl notice how when people shit all over market economics by pointing out that 99% of all products and companies fail regardless of quality, that capitalist apologists try to dismiss it by saying "you just didn't do enough marketing".

This argument is fucking hilarious for two reasons:

1. If visibility is more important than quality, then the market isn't actually a meritocracy but a plutocracy in which the wealthiest people with the biggest marketing budget are successful by default, which debunks the idea that the most successful people are automatically the most talented.

2. Since nobody can just whip out several million dollars (which btw isn't even that much for marketing) to market their product or company unless they are already a big player anyway...well see point number 1. It's not a meritocracy. If you don't have millions to market your shit then you have already failed before you started.

Meritocracy is bullshit tbh and so is capitalism. Everything is set into stone one way or the other.

You're such a fucking idiot. Quality is more important than marketing, a shitty product will fail no matter how much marketing it will have and a good product will succeed even with low marketing. It just has to have some marketing so that people know it exists.

No, he said a product with millions of dollars of marketing will have more success than a product with quality but less marketing (visibility).

It depends on the product and market. For example McDonalds, Arbys, Fast food in general is heavily reliant on marketing because the markets are highly developed and little to no innovation. Therefore they have low differentiation between products (no matter how much people cope with 1 place is better than the other). This means they need ads, marketing campaigns (travis scott, impossible burger), in order to make things happen.

In things like Technology oftentimes marketing is less important as a quality featureset, this is because technology is growing at a fast pace and isn't settling any time soon.

This is also why Tesla did pretty well. They didn't spend much on marketing, however the featureset BLEW the other cars out of the water at the time, and had better financing options, so they have a HUGE lead on other car manufacturers, even though it was a well developed market

This is uber-bluepilled. Shit products become successful all the time. All the while intelligent shit gets overlooked because nobody heard about it.

There's a thing called raising capital which is at the core of every single business-idea ever created in history.

It's your job to convince wealthy people to invest in your idea so that it can be marketed. Thinking you have to do this all by yourself and have your own capital ready is an idea of idiots. Life has always been about leveraging other people's time, talents and capital. The average person doesn't have capital, but has time and can have talent. Find capital.

Highest Marketing Budget => Most visibility => profitable monopoly => employ dozens of cheap R&D STEMcels

It doesn't work the other way around

A tiny team of STEMcels without Marketing budget won't have any success

In the real world the rich just deal with other rich people. Relatives, people from the same class etc. The legend of the ambitious innovator convincing the rich to give him money is just bluepill propaganda.

How does hyper aggressive marketing work for McDonald's and coca cola when they are well established? They spend half a billion a year on marketing, are sales really going to plummet the moment you stop making bullshit life is good tv commercials

The rich are pragmatic. They deal with anyone who makes their time and money worthwhile

Small businesses basically don’t invest anything in marketing. It’s pointless.

Their clientele consists of people who were just passing by and conveniently walked into their store.

This is an absolute myth and one of the biggest capitalist propaganda ever. The rich are nepotistic and elitist and will just do whatever reinforces class divisions.

Case in point: Social media companies. Or for that matter, just all big media in general. They don't give a shit about the profit motive and in fact are in many cases actually losing money. But they don't care because it's all about the power.

Also, look at how companies hire in ethnocentric countries like Japan: Not Japanese = Will not get promoted.

Capitalism, just like every other system, is just a power structure.

The rich don’t have an outright agenda to reinforce class divisions. They’re just out to protect their legacy and that usually manifests as nepotism. They are elitist only because the elites are able to provide value worth their time. Occasionally, someone lower comes into the picture albeit less frequently than those in power.

only way to succeed these days is to have a good product and good marketing with ads that are profitable and can be scaled up
