Also, china isn't like the western elites. They actually give a shit about their country and are legit patriotic. If I, who dreamed about a huge lifespan or immortality since I was a little child and knew the concept of growing up, have to get old and die and on top of that share the world with lucky people who just were born some years laters I will commit to a life of crime and try to hurt others as much as possible. The thing that scares me almost as much as death is to have to behold an immortal/longlifer with my own eyes while I dont have the gift.

I'm all for gene editing if it means babies no longer have to be born with cancer and die as children and shit like that, but creating a elite of super humans while us unlucky to have been born before rot is dystopian. Unless the tech to modify already existing humans is possible, then its another completely different thing.

yes but sudden death is still better than living in "race-mode" because of a limited time clock. Ill elaborate on this further in a longer detailed post, but I think that the vast majority of things that make us unhappy in life have their ultimate root on the fact that we are on a super limited time of lifespan.
