I prayed to God for many things when I was a kid, it said right so in the Bible and other religious books: "Ask and you shall receive." When I didn't get what I wanted, I was pretty confused, I checked the books some more and it said there that you need faith("If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move.").
This made me even more confused, because I was absolutely convinced I had faith, for me the whole concept of "believing" was also pretty dubious - I mean, how can you even not believe??? All people in my country were Christians, religion was everywhere, we studied it in school along with math, physics, chemistry, etc., it was just as legit as all those other things, otherwise they wouldn't put us to study it, right????
Anyway, this send me down a rabbit hole that ended with me losing my faith after studying plenty of other religious books and texts.
