Interacting with people in retail is only one context of interaction. It’s usually the customers that go up to the retail workers first to ask them for help, and the worker just has to show them where something is or answer some question. It’s not quite the same as making small talk or flirting with people you find attractive.

Some other jobs that help with small talk or initiating interactions might be bartending or even door to door sales.
