Even if you don't want to be compared, the world will constantly compare you against other and remind you of how badly you're getting mogged.
When you go to school, you could be on a curved grade scale where you are pitted against others. So even if you did ok, if everyone else did better, you're getting a bad grade.
When I go to work, it doesn't matter what I think coz my boss is still gonna compare me with the other wageslaves in how productive I am.
Same as my family who will ask why am I getting careermogged by others
