class 2 elastics are design to pull upper teeth back and they promote CW clockwise jaw rotation (downwards and back)

Yeah it pulls the teeth back which can camouflage recession in some cases but not cause it
It does recess you as your growth happens vertically rather than horizontally
It's responsible for LFS (downgrowth)

Its case by case, depending on whether the elastics lock in the mandible

What do you mean?
When would it not be the case with a Class 2?
No depending on the person and if it’s a skeletal or dental imbalance
If it’s a skeletal one, the deficiencies of the mandible aren’t addressed by elastics
If it’s dental, then the teeth are being moved to proper alignment

what ab ones that move lower teeth forward
i'm not 100% sure but I believe this would be the herbst appliance

with class 2 elastics: it applies a downward & backward vector on the mandible

so class 2 elastics pulls lower teeth forward & upper teeth back

The herbst appliance holds the mandible forward continuously (24/7)
The forward mandibular posture counteracts CW rotation

so the herbst appliance is superior for CCW rotation and advancing the mandible

its a rubber band on my upper and lower teeth thats meant to pull my lower teeth forward but as a side effect i think it pulls upper backward

Why can't these jewish orthos just fucking listen to us and gives us what we want

Herbst is ccw , cls2 elastics cw. Herbst is more costly, tell your ortho you would have trouble with hooking your elastics and that you forget and that you can’t comply that good with putting elastics . And that you’re not really a compelling patient this should work

Because it costs more , more time consuming , they don’t really care that much about their patients they just want easy money in short time .

i got it put in a month and a couple days after i turned 14 and got it removed 2 weeks after i turned 15
And did it receed your dental arch or create any problems , it’s top 5 appliance for sure and promotes ccw

nope i didn’t experience any problems with it, and yes def did promote ccw id recommend herpts over like the bands for braces

You said you were 14 ,did you still notice forward growth in the maxilla or did it stop at 14 . You should of still grew a few mms of forward growth in harmony with the mandible

idrk i think i did but i lowk think it was 80% puberty for the forward growth but the jaw and ccw was def half herpts

can't you just mimic it by jutting 24/7? The herbst locks your jaw in that forward position, so doing it yourself might have a similar effect
