I know I will get alot of "water" for this one, but my intention is not to reveal some sacred knowledge, it's just for sake of discussion.

Anyone who thinks they will be able to become Rich off of a specific skill or subject, know that you will never ever be the best unless you started young.

You will really never be the best at anything unless you started young, and I mean really young.
Me and my friends went through COUNTLESS areas. Maths, Chess, Medicine, Chemistry, Sharpshooting, Sports, Entertainment, Racing, even being a Mechanic, all the people in the top 25 started young.
1765128635224

Magnus Carlsen, regarded as the best chess player to ever live, started playing at age 5.

For Maths and Chess, usually 4-6
For stuff like Medicine, Chemistry, usually 16 [though this is because of highschool completion age]
For Sharpshooting, many at the top surprisingly started at 14, which is weirdly high, but lots started at age 9-12
For Sports, it was 9
For Entertainment, 8-16
Professional racing, 6 years old.

1765128798935

Sergei Martynov, regarded as the best sharpshooter to ever lived, started shooting at age 12.

Why is this important, isn't it obvious?

It should be said because theres alot of people on this forum, who believe that they are secretly gifted, and if they just TRIIIED they would completely shatter their competition. And they would succeed. And since it's just so plain and obvious that they would do so well, they shouldn't even bother.
Saying this out loud, the cope is obvious, but this way of thinking is more common on here than you'd think.
No, you will never be the best at anything, you've missed your chance to be the best at anything, the only thing you will ever be is in the top 1%, if you grind something for years and years.

Example of cope

you don't have to watch this video at all, trust me.

This video was quite brutal, because the reason why this "Hungrybox" person became the best Smash Melee player was because his father told him "You can be extremely good at something, but you will never ever be the best." and this was his way of proving dad wrong.
1765129706570

Uhh, fucking smash melee? :feelskek:
If you find some niche thing like some fucking dead video game from 2001 and grind it for years and years methodically, sure, you can become the best. But you will never be the best at anything actually serious. And, if this player tried to become the best at any modern Smash Bros game, he would be knocked out of the park by the competition, and I know this without even knowing anything about the Smash Bros franchise.

EVEN MORE BRUTAL.
According to the video, In one of the tournaments before this Hungrybox guy became the absolute best, where they were known competitive Smash Melee players who were seen as the cream of the crop, they all got wiped out by some little kid who didn't even really play the game, and only went to the convention where the tournament was held for something different, and he left with the prize money.
Hard work, and pure autism, beaten by some kid's elite neuroplasticity and maybe even good genetics when it comes to playing video games.
Ishowspeed trying not to laugh

So brutal.

TL;DR: Make your kid grind a specific subject for his entire childhood that he doesn't want to do so he grows up to hate you

Starting young + crazy genetics is your only way to the top and that's a sad reality.
You'll never be as great as a 6yo kid who's just a fucking genius.
Chess is the best example for this.

This is like saying half of becoming a professional runner is dependent on your left leg, and half is on the right
You are forgetting about alot of extremely important variables ontop of that, by just bringing up 2 specific ones that are also extremely extremely important

I meant that half of the things listed have either money or genetics as their main variable

There really is no main variable if without multiple variables it wouldn't work.
Which is your most important organ when keeping you alive? There is none, because there are multiple organs where without them, you'd die. Your brain, your kidneys, your liver, your skin, your heart, your lungs.
What about becoming the best at something?

Your genetics, your parent's 'want' to help you, your parent's abilities [money, connections, etc], your actual interest in the subject, when you start, what recourses are available [for example, I believe bobby fischer would have a higher ELO than Magnus if he lived in modern era], what the scene is line [For example, I believe that Paul Morphy had the best potential out of any chess player ever, with him playing 2600 ELO level chess where the 2nd highest was around 2300 ELO. He literally had to travel across countries to play people of even 2200 level skill, whilst modern chess players just boot up an online chess game, and they're playing against some 2700 ELO player from ukraine they've never met]
In this world, there are always multiple variables that result in a specific end result

every single chess GM started very young. I think it's the one "sport" (whatever you wanna call it) where it's genuinely impossible to be very good at it unless you started at like 5 years old. Correct me if I'm wrong, I think i've heard of one person who maybe started a little later than others but that's it

It is possible to become a grandmaster at any age
But the answer you get from chess players is that it's impossible
Because, if a 30 year old wanted to become a chess player, he would literally have to abandon everything, persuing a family, work, hobbies, and literally study 5-8 hours a day until maybe he reaches it by age 40-50
and, nobody's doing all that
so yeah, it's impossible

Nope, that's bullshit. If you gotta work hard at something know there are people who can just move on in and blow you out of the water at it. You might work for something your entire life and someone will just come in and do it for the first time like it's nothing. Natural ability or will make you eat shit and want to cry. If you gotta work hard at something best move on.

Natural ability or will make you eat shit and want to cry.
This is also retarded, since people at the top 25 of any competitive area, or even academic area, will have insane natural talent [or else, how would they have gotten there?]
And when 2 people of insane natural talent go against each other, the usual winner is the person who has the most experience

I mean, I feel like this is obvious to the point where if you disagree it's like you have 0 life experience

This is not always the case, sometimes the best person in a subject is just the best because he has the most talent, like how magnus carlsen isn't being beaten by anyone anytime soon, and it's mostly a race to second place in the chess world, since nobody is beating him for the 1st, but even in this example, he started at age 5

The brain just isn't that efficient anymore for learning things past a certain age. And the 30 year old in question would also need to be very gifted genetically. All social factors aside, if someone was completely devoted to becoming a GM and started at 30 years old, it would be technically possible but extremely unlikely.
Also JFL at those smash melee players who got destroyed by some random autistic kid

It's extremely rare and coincidental that someone is thrust into something they have insane natural talent for at such a young age. It's like hitting the lottery twice. And I've never wanted to be the best at anything. Only have a good time.
