id say most influential on the new wave of rappers for sure, carti for example wouldnt exist without the thug influence, and neither would figures like nine vicious, nettspend, etc. any rapper that exists today that leans into femininity or is a bit zesty is a product of thugger.

gucci mane is one of the godfathers of atlanta rap, and future is also crazy influential and popular, but for me thug is the goat of atlanta. he was in my top 5 on spotify last year, he just has such an insane range. songs for every mood fr.

nah L take hes hype but hes not even a good lyricist, he has some songs that you can connect with emotionally but you cant say hes the best rapper if the only purpose he serves in most peoples taste is hype

but account influence into it sure thug made uzis style but opiums influence was massive

opium influenced a small niche of atlanta underground artists like untiljapan, southsidesillhouette, lifelessgarments, diorvsyou, and apollored1, and admittedly they made the booming 808s style of beats more popular, which led to the development of rage in general with artists like che and 2slimey, but thug undeniaby had more influence.

thug basically made lil baby, gunna, carti, and uzi. nobody would even be saying slime if it wasnt for this nigga we gotta put more respect on the mans name.

also the barter 6 and so much fun clear every carti album, die lit was amazing tho

yeah but cartis influence hasnt had time to fully develop yet, give it a couple years and artists like osamason and che will be massive + gunna washed now the only real artists that thug influenced that are still good today are carti and uzi

I like Carti more but thug (and future can’t discredit him) were the most influential. Gucci mane and rich homie quan were influential too but I lowk don’t listen to them
