You will fuck up your joints and shit and it isn't even optimal for aesthetics

whats low reps?

thing about the gym is that you have to enjoy going. Else ur just wasting life quality tbh. If low rep, high weight is what you like. Go for it.

low iq moment. high reps fuck up joints. low reps at 70-80% exertion is the least risky

He means powerlifting. Programs like stronglifts 5x5 which is what redditors promote.

It's the worst program for aesthetics and muscle hypertrophy and powerlifters either look tiny or bloated fatcels. There are no aesthetic powerlifters.

If you train close to failure, anything between 5-30 reps is pretty similar

Going to failure in 6-8 rep range with heavy weights is most sure and time saving method for hypertrophy.

Dumb cope. Powerlifters are aesthetic.

Furthermore, powerlifters don’t only train in low reps. Most powerlifting programs use a combination of low, medium, and some high reps, with periodization (rep counts change over time).

but the reason (according to Alan Thrall) beginner programs such as SS and SL use low reps is because high reps cause fatigue and thus form breakdown.

autism. if I use too big weights I don't feel any burn and just start struggling for dear life. my shoulders and lats are the only good parts about my body because I trained them like an autist with super high reps and I ego lifted my chest exercises with low reps and felt no burn and barely any growth

True, I reached very high aesthethic level naturally by doing pretty much calisthenics sometimes with a weighted vest and also from time to time weights that aren't that heavy.

not just every strength athlete use periodization but also sprinter/marathoners

It’s best to go at like 80-90 percent of your max for like 10-12 reps and Grecian every muscle for 3 times a week assuming your not a low T cuck you will see gains

I dont like starting strength 5x5 but if ppl like it then it still mogs whatever the average person is doing: little to nothing.

Be lean, do some kind of power/explosive sport or workout and thats enough for an aesthetic body tbh

I usually do 8-12. But some I do up to 25 like neck curls or hanging leg raise

You’re coping if you don’t do weighted leg raises. I do hanging knee raises with a dumbbell on my feet.

I could start doing weighted leg raises. 25reps is getting kinda high.

I added weighted cable ab crunches recently though. But still learning how to activate my abs there. Feels more like other muscles are doing the work

Do high reps low weights burn more bodyfat?

It's good for strength if thats what you want.

can confirm tbh fucked my shoulder and elbow up pretty badly
left elbow i think is just permanent nerve damage but at least it's pretty mild
right shoulder i definitely fucked up smth idek what, went to PT and they told me I was better despite me telling them I wasn't, still feel only like 90% half a year later
all of this was just about a year of lifting as a noob to end up still looking like an untrained skinnyfat joke. jfl
you can probably get away with it if you have perfect form and deload occasionally tho ngl

lol this is so true, I started going to the gym about 10 years ago back when the whole internet loved Mark Rippetoe and Starting Strength and I totally bought into the hype. "Do heavy squats 3 times a week! Never train your arms!" etc

I think modern gymcels now realise that its mostly retarded though

Legit thread.
Just lol @ incel "muh powerbuilding" "muh 5x5" "starting strength" "fullbody" "you grow your arms by increasing your squat" "you should train movements not muscles" BS that was parroted by those scammers few years ago.
In reality, it is high rep with lots of isolation work and chasing for pumps which builds mucle.
Thats why you will see incels doing their 5x5 and chads doing classic chest and biceps brosplit.

high rep is cope over 12 is bad

BS, up to 25 reps will work for hypertrophy.
Especially leg respond best to high reps.
Just LOL @ people who do squats 5x5 and try prs on this exercise.
Best rep range for leg hypertrophy is over 10, up to 15 reps.
