To be honest I'm very picky with who I associate myself with. In college I had a group that formed from the student residence, but only one was good enough to hang out solo. I don't see the appeal to go out with shallow losers/mediocre men if they can't even be low inhibition or talk to random women. Then I have some friends to have deep, interesting topics to talk about, even if they are not good with women.

It’s not age that matters, there’s been no difference from 25 to 30 for me, it basically ended for me at 21 when I gave up on college and moved out of that area. I had just had my first real friend groups and first couple flings, I thought it was so easy and I could be successful anywhere, but nope. I’m shy, I feel like I need a slow paced environment where I can get to know people (including girls) over time. That only comes through proximity.

There have been times when I seriously considered getting a weekend job at a restaurant or somewhere around a lot of girls, even though my job is 50-60 hours per week and I make enough money. I’m that desperate for proximity.

And yes, I went clubbing with some friends I made in the hostel when I went to Europe, I actually had a lot of fun, I was really surprised.
