Native europeans colonized the world because their continent and lifestyle was more apropriate to develop tecnology.

For example, to develop heavy equipment and tecnology you're going to need a lot of people working in a forge, but if you're a nomadic people you can't carry a 500 kilos forge every week. In a society of nomadic hunters all the adults are going to have to hunt food every day. Due to this nomadic hunters never managed to develop iron weapons and never developed cities with a sophisticated political organization.

A good example of this are the amerindians living in the Amazon rainforest. They can't have kings and empires because they move every week.
