Desire is the root of your suffering.
You want a better bone structure, longer legs, a bigger jaw.
You want female validation, sex, social status.
Is it not the absence of these that makes you suffer, but your unfulfilled desire for them?
Is it easier to attain them and somehow defy your genetics, or to learn to shed your desire?
Pleasure is suffering as it is transient, and for pleasure to exist, displeasure must exist as a contrast, and pleasure necessitates displeasure

I forgot that this forum was a glorified SPED class

And yes pleasure necessitates displeasure. Pleasure is a variance from the baseline. If there was only pleasure there is no pleasure, it becomes your baseline. This is why a rich man in a technologically advanced society may not be any happier than a poor man from 3000 years ago. This is water.

Suffering is wanting what you do not have, it is desire. Pleasure is impermanent. Therefore you are stuck in an infinite cycle of pleasure and suffering (samsara)
