to put it in short terms, i think most of yall know the difference between the 2, "zygomatic hollow cheek are caused by the zygos being bigger then the mandibule + masseter, which only show under lighting, if there is neutral lighting (coming from above) or full lighten room, while masseter hollow cheeks are caused by an hypertrophy of the muscule itself, and this type of hollow cheeks shows in every single type of lighting, does not matter the angle, BUT its not natural ofc, its mostly achived
Personal experience
i have hollow cheek caused by zygos, so the first condition. pics below:
WITH lighting:
so the logic here is that if the light comes or from straight above (one single source like a pole) or from behind, this effect will happend, so when you are walking faced behind a light source like the sun this will happend.
why this happens?
as you see the zygomatic bone + the brow ridge sticks out you can tell by how its palers in that zone, and below its a little darker/ redder, this picture is taken with a room filled with light, so if i take a pic from the mirror or camera , hollow cheek wont really show unless i find a angle where a light is behind me.
so all of this to say that masseter hollow cheeks are way better at least in my opinion then zygomatic hollow cheeks
